Introducing the D2674 Jack Plane
Jack Planes, also known as fore planes, are general-purpose utility planes designed to remove substantial material from rough stock and bring it closer to final size.
The D2674 Jack Plane is a tool suitable for smoothing and jointing flat surfaces, depending on the size of the workpiece. With dimensions of 2" width and 14" length, it features precision-ground cast-iron construction, ensuring durability over time.
The 14" long sole of the jack plane facilitates accurate smoothing and jointing. The cast-iron base's slightly greater heft, compared to other metals, contributes to a smoother cut during use.
Equipped with a chip breaker, the tool helps break and curl shavings to minimize tear-out ahead of the cutting edge, providing additional support to reduce chatter.
The knurled brass adjusting nut makes it easy to adjust the mouth opening of the plane. It comes with a 1-year warranty, covering parts and ensuring freedom from factory defects.
