The steel is hardened in a salt bath to 60 +/- 1 HRc. A prized tool for all general tradespeople due to its versatility on a job site. The front edge is 1-1/64" (26mm) wide for chiseling and mortising. The side cutting edge is 3-35/64" (90mm) long for everything else.
