A beautifully crafted, well-balanced 'inshave' is a delight to use. In essence, a curved, deep carving tool with two wooden handles. The blade length is 170mm (about 7") and the width is around 1-3/8". An 'inshave' is the correct tool to use when you need to cut deep hollows for bowls or when carving chair seats.
